Museo Fernando Marmolejo
El proyecto surge para acoger de forma permanente, la colección personal del reconocido orfebre Fernando Marmolejo, afincado en Santiponce, y para difundir el rico patrimonio de la población vinculado al yacimiento arqueológico de Itálica y el monasterio de San Isidoro del Campo, en exposiciones no permanentes.
El edificio se sitúa a las afueras Santiponce orientado hacia el este en el solar que ocupaba el matadero municipal.
La privilegiada situación del museo en la población muy cerca del Teatro Romano, y próximo a Itálica, posibilita su inclusión en un recorrido de visita de la ciudad romana. Por otro lado, la proximidad del campo de la feria inscribe al edificio en el contexto de espacios lúdicos de Santiponce y lo conecta visualmente a la vega del Guadalquivir.
El edificio se aísla de la realidad exterior, para ensimismarse y crear su propio lugar. La presencia de la medianera del edificio adyacente, a lo largo de la dimensión mayor del edificio, posibilita la lectura unitaria del espacio del Museo que se propone, como fragmentario. La luz cenital en lugares puntuales de la cubierta acentúa una experiencia sensitiva en la que la luz talla los espacios, transformándolos a lo largo del día.
En planta baja la estructura compartimenta el espacio, que se fragmenta y comunica a la vez, a través de la multiplicidad de puntos de vista y recorridos. Los cambios de escala, los diferentes niveles del suelo, las visiones cruzadas, permiten crear la ilusión de un espacio que se dilata hasta donde alcanza la vista.La zona superior del edificio es un recorrido secuencial en el que se suceden los espacios que ya se adivinaban en planta baja, y que alcanzan su forma definitiva en los alzados y las cubiertas del edifico cristalizando las formas que se intuyen en el interior.
The project was created to permanently house the personal collection of the renowned goldsmith Fernando Marmolejo, who lives in Santiponce, and to disseminate the rich heritage of the population linked to the archaeological site of Italica and the monastery of San Isidoro del Campo, in non-permanent exhibitions.
The building is located on the outskirts of Santiponce, facing east on the site once occupied by the municipal slaughterhouse.
The privileged location of the museum in the town, very close to the Roman Theatre, and close to Italica, makes it possible to include it in a tour of the Roman city. On the other hand, the proximity of the fairgrounds places the building in the context of Santiponce's recreational spaces and visually connects it to the fertile plain of the Guadalquivir.
The building is isolated from the outside reality, to become absorbed and create its own place. The presence of the party wall of the adjacent building, along the greater dimension of the building, allows a unitary reading of the space of the Museum that is proposed, as fragmentary. The zenithal light in specific places on the roof accentuates a sensitive experience in which light carves the spaces, transforming them throughout the day.
On the ground floor, the structure compartmentalizes the space, which is fragmented and communicated at the same time, through the multiplicity of points of view and routes. The changes of scale, the different levels of the floor, the crossed visions, allow to create the illusion of a space that expands up to where the view reaches. The superior zone of the building is a sequential route in which the spaces that already were guessed in ground floor are followed, and that reach their definitive form in the elevations and the covers of the building crystallizing the forms that are intuited in the interior.
